Can I delay going on Medicare until September 2015?

Q) I receive a pension check from the State of MN each month in excess of three thousand dollars. It is my understand that I make to much money to collect social security until age 66. Also I am still working & I have excellent health benefits through my employer. Can I delay going on Medicare until September 2015 when I can also begin collecting social security benefits? If not, how long can I defer medicare benefits?
A) If you wish to defer medicare you must call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) and speak to a customer service representative. Please have your identification information available so that the representative will be able to properly process your request.
