A) You can get the application for a replacement Social Security card online or at your local Social Security office.

To apply online, you will need to create a my Social Security account. Once you have created an account, you can log in and click on the “Request a Replacement Card” link. You will then be asked to provide some basic information, such as your name, address, and Social Security number. You will also need to upload a copy of a document that proves your identity, such as a driver’s license or passport.

To apply in person, you will need to bring your Social Security card application (Form SS-5) and two forms of identification to your local Social Security office. You can find a list of Social Security offices near you on the Social Security Administration website.

The Social Security Administration allows free card replacements; you are limited to three per year or 10 throughout your life (name changes and other exceptions don’t count).

Once you have submitted your application for a replacement Social Security card, it will usually take about 10 to 15 business days to receive your new card in the mail.
